MSC, ONE and Maersk are adding low-water surcharges of up to $1,900 per container on Manaus cargo as the Amazon basin dries out. MSC will charge $1,400 per dry box and $1,900 per reefer; ONE $1,458 from 15 September for imports and 1 October for exports; Maersk $1,228 per dry box from September. Maersk flags late October to November as the highest-risk window, with possible lightening at Itacoatiara or discharge at floating terminals.
