Two Chinese crew from the 1998-built, Panama-flagged bulk carrier Ocean Winner were landed at Paradip on 27 August, but 22 of the 24 crew remain missing nearly a week after the ship went down about 290 nautical miles off Odisha. The vessel had sailed from Paradip on 20 August with around 71,200 tonnes of iron ore fines bound for China and capsized in about eight minutes. Surveyors point to cargo liquefaction after Odisha recorded 29% excess monsoon rainfall.
