MSC, CMA CGM and Maersk push more tonnage back through Suez between 23 and 25 August

MSC issued an advisory on 24 August confirming multiple services returning to the Suez Canal after two years routed around the Cape of Good Hope, while CMA CGM told the Suez Canal Authority it will accelerate transits. CMA CGM logged 199 transits carrying 25.2m tonnes since January, against 212 transits and 18.8m tonnes across all of 2025. The authority cited the 17,200-TEU BANGKOK MAERSK transiting northbound.
