China's monitored ports handle 7.01m TEU in a week, up 13.01% as typhoon backlogs clear

China's Ministry of Transport said monitored ports handled 275.13 million tonnes of cargo and 7.01 million TEU in the 17-23 August week, up 24.02% and 13.01% on the prior week as East China terminals worked through typhoon backlogs. National rail freight reached 79.88 million tonnes, up 0.74%, and 4,856 cargo flights operated, 3,154 of them international. Courier volumes were flat at about 3.79bn parcels collected.
