COSCO and OOCL will start a new Asia-Red Sea service, RS4, on 9 September with seven vessels averaging 5,000 TEU on a Shanghai-Ningbo-Xiamen-Nansha-Jeddah-Shanghai rotation. In parallel, the Gemini Cooperation has routed its AE19 Asia-Mediterranean loop permanently through the Suez Canal from a 3 September first sailing, adding eastbound and westbound Jeddah calls at 15,000 TEU average capacity, while AE15 adds a Jeddah call with twelve ships averaging 18,400 TEU.
