CMA CGM, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have announced a wave of Peak Season Surcharges, General Rate Increases and revised booking fees effective between late June and mid-July 2026. South and East Africa trades are seeing some of the steepest cumulative increases, with CMA CGM charging up to $550 per TEU from China to Mozambique and Maersk applying $1,800-$2,000 per container on Asia-Southern Africa. Hapag-Lloyd has also raised North America GRIs by up to $2,100 per container and introduced a EUR 500 booking cancellation fee on North Europe exports.
