Drewry's composite World Container Index rose 9% week-on-week to $4,530 per 40-foot container as peak-season demand and tight capacity pushed rates higher. The Shanghai-Los Angeles spot rate climbed 10% to $6,349/FEU and Shanghai-New York gained 11% to $7,902/FEU.
