Drewry's World Container Index climbed another 4% to $4,127 per 40ft container in the week to June 25, the third consecutive weekly gain and a fresh 18-month high. Transpacific lanes continued to lead: Shanghai-Los Angeles at $5,421/FEU and Shanghai-New York at $7,012/FEU. Asia-Europe trades firmed again with Shanghai-Rotterdam at $4,512/FEU and Shanghai-Genoa at $6,001/FEU. The index is being driven by July 1 GRI pushes, peak-season frontloading ahead of the Section 122 surcharge expiration window (July 24), and bunker-fuel adjustment. Carriers are stacking PSS surcharges of $500-$1,500/TEU on Asia-Europe and the transpacific for July sailings.
