C.H. Robinson (NASDAQ: CHRW) ended a five-year acquisition drought with the $75 million cash purchase of Illinois-based DeSpir Logistics, a specialized provider of secure transportation and cargo escort services for mission-critical, high-value freight across North America. The deal represents a 1.2x revenue multiple on DeSpir's $62 million in 2025 revenue. CEO Dave Bozeman disclosed the pending move at the Wolfe Research conference, saying the company had the financial ratios and operational framework to integrate new businesses. CHRW held nearly $160 million in cash at the end of the last reported quarter. This is CHRW's first acquisition since June 2021, when it bought Europe's Combinex Holding B.V. for $14.7 million. The DeSpir deal signals CHRW's confidence in the high-value secure cargo niche as a margin-accretive growth vertical.
