Schedule delays are tying up the equivalent of 1.7 million TEU of global container capacity - a fleet that would rank as the world's eighth-largest carrier - Sea-Intelligence says. Delays now absorb 5.0% of deep-sea capacity, up from 2.2% in 2011-2019, the extra 2.8 points alone worth about 1.0m TEU. Global schedule reliability has settled at 60-65% against a 70-80% pre-pandemic norm, and late arrivals now average 5-5.5 days, up from 3-4 days.
