The Port of Klaipėda inaugurated Lithuania's first green hydrogen production and refueling station, marking a milestone in the Baltic Sea region's green shipping corridor development. The facility, located within the port complex, will supply hydrogen fuel to port equipment, trucks, and eventually vessels as the maritime industry transitions toward zero-emission operations. The station is part of a broader €120 million EU-backed Baltic Green Corridor initiative linking Klaipėda with Gdansk, Gdynia, and Scandinavian ports. The project positions Lithuania as an early mover in maritime hydrogen infrastructure, complementing similar initiatives in Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges.
