The Baltic Exchange's main dry bulk index rose 44 points, or 1.5%, to 2,926 on 25 August, its highest since 12 August and a fourth straight daily gain. The capesize index added 2% to 4,735, lifting average daily earnings by $840 to $39,442, while panamax gained 2% to 2,166 with earnings up $318 to $19,496 and supramax edged 0.1% to 1,643. Iron ore futures slipped on margin concerns.
