LA/Long Beach Traffic Mitigation Fee Rises 4.77% Effective August 1

The West Coast MTO Agreement raised the PierPass Traffic Mitigation Fee at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach effective Saturday, August 1, 2026. The charge climbs to $40.63 per TEU from $38.78, and to $81.26 from $77.56 for all other container sizes, increases of $1.85 and $3.70 respectively. WCMTOA said the 4.77% adjustment tracks the longshore wage and assessment rates set in the new ILWU-PMA coastwide contract, with labor the single largest cost component of extended terminal gate hours.
