Nationwide COSATU Protest Disrupts South African Port Operations

Transnet Port Terminals warned on 19 June that a nationwide Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) protest action would disrupt transport and logistics movements to and from port facilities. The Port of Durban and Port Elizabeth reported access constraints, landside delays and terminal congestion. Waterside operations largely continued, but truck shortages and road disruptions extended container dwell times.
