EU to Apply €3 Customs Duty on Low-Value Imports From 1 July

Source: European Commission · 2026-06-30
Summary

The EU will apply a temporary flat €3 customs duty per item on low-value consignments up to €150 imported from outside the EU starting 1 July 2026, abolishing the previous de minimis duty exemption. The measure, part of the EU Customs Reform, will run until 1 July 2028 and aims to level the playing field after 5.9 billion low-value items entered the EU duty-free in 2025. Product identifiers will become mandatory from 1 November 2026 to improve traceability and safety checks.
