USPS sets 6% holiday peak surcharge from 4 Oct 2026 through 17 Jan 2027

The U.S. Postal Service will add a 6% temporary peak-season surcharge from 4 October 2026 to 17 January 2027, pending regulatory approval, covering Priority Mail, Ground Advantage and Parcel Select. Retail increases start at USD 0.50 per piece (up to USD 20.80) and commercial at USD 0.40 (up to USD 18.20). Combined with FedEx and UPS demand fees, Q4 last-mile costs rise across the board.
