India sets gold tariff value at $1,500 per 10 grams from 26 August, keeps silver and edible oils

India's Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs notified a tariff value of $1,500 per 10 grams for gold from 26 August, up from $1,395, in a Finance Ministry notification issued on 25 August. Silver stays at $2,097/kg, crude palm oil at $1,208/tonne, crude soybean oil at $1,257/tonne, brass scrap at $7,945/tonne and areca nuts at $11,574/tonne. Tariff values set the duty base regardless of invoice price.
