Amazon to self-deliver 2m parcels a day dropped by UPS, tripling rural network by year end

Amazon said on 24 August it will build out its own delivery capacity to absorb roughly 2 million parcels a day that UPS stopped handling, part of UPS's plan to strip out about $4.5bn of spend. Amazon will invest more than $4bn to triple its rural delivery network by the end of 2026 across over 200 stations and 13,000 ZIP codes. Amazon Logistics handled about 6.7bn parcels in 2025, ahead of USPS, UPS and FedEx.
