Hapag-Lloyd will acquire a 25% stake in APM Terminals' Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam, securing long-term access to automated capacity at a hub central to the Gemini Cooperation network. APM Terminals keeps operational control and is adding 1,000 metres of deep-sea berth to a total 2,000 metres, more yard space, four rail tracks and automated tractors, lifting annual capacity to 5.4m TEU. Terms were undisclosed and closing needs regulatory approval.
