The Port of Long Beach moved a record 875,000 TEUs in April, its busiest April on record, driven by retail restocking and tariff-anticipation frontloading. CEO Mario Cordero said the gateway is processing the volume without congestion thanks to coordinated labour and trucking capacity. The port is accelerating rail and electrification projects to bolster resilience.
