CBP to pilot Entry Type 13 for mail parcels <=$2,500 from 22 September

From 22 September CBP will voluntarily test Entry Type 13, a new ACE electronic informal entry for international mail valued at $2,500 or less, as the post-de minimis standard channel. Filers must supply HTSUS classification, country of origin, declared value, duty calc and importer ID. Formal entry still applies above $2,500 or for punitive-tariff goods. Brokers should prep classification workflows.
